PS Jura launches four candidates for the government

Jura Government Race Heats Up with Socialist Party Candidates

The Socialist Party in Jura has announced its contenders for the upcoming government elections, setting the stage for a competitive race. Key figures like Rosalie Beuret Siess are vying for seats, promising a dynamic political landscape.

Socialists Announce Candidates

The Socialist Party made its decisions on Friday to back Rosalie Beuret Siess, Sarah Gerster, Raphaël Ciocchi, and Valentin Zuber in the Jura government elections. The Green-Es have also approved the candidacy of Sonia Burri-Schmassmann.

The Jura Socialist Party aims to retain its two government seats, despite the decision of Minister Nathalie Barthoulot not to seek reelection. Rosalie Beuret Siess, the Finance Minister since 2020, is also running.

Raphaël Ciocchi, president of the PS Jura, will attempt to join the executive branch. Valentin Zuber may also become the first provost to enter the Jura executive.

Sarah Gerster, representing the Franc-Montagnard region, hopes to ensure her district’s continued representation after the withdrawal of David Eray (PCSI). The Green-Es, meeting in Delémont on Friday, supported Sonia Burri-Schmassmann’s candidacy, the only one put forward.
