Piacenza Province Officials express Disappointment over Exclusion from School Gym Inauguration
PIACENZA, ITALY – A dispute over protocol has emerged in Piacenza following the inauguration of the redeveloped gymnasium at the “Raineri-Marcora” school. While the Province of Piacenza oversaw the renovation project-funded by Italy’s PNRR recovery plan-officials were not invited to the ceremony, prompting a formal protest.
The newly renovated gym is named in memory of Marina Partiti, a beloved teacher who passed away in 2008. the Province holds responsibility for the maintenance of all high schools in the Piacenza area and managed the project through the Body in via Garibaldi, which oversaw the design and construction.
Despite the province’s involvement, Piacenza Mayor Katia Tarasconi and councilor for Sport Mario Dadati were prominently featured at the inauguration, both delivering remarks.
Province President Monica Patelli has since issued a formal communication to school administrators, emphasizing the importance of respecting institutional roles and protocols in future events. The incident has sparked debate within local government circles regarding inter-agency collaboration and recognition of contributions to public works projects.
