Rachel Scott of Diotima Appointed Creative Director of Proenza Schouler
NEW YORK, NY – Proenza Schouler announced today that Rachel Scott, founder of the critically acclaimed label Diotima, will assume the role of creative director. The appointment comes as Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez transition to lead Loewe. Scott, a two-time CFDA award winner, will oversee the womenswear and accessories label founded in 2002.
The move marks a significant moment for both Scott and Proenza schouler, signaling a continuation of the brand’s commitment to innovative American fashion under new leadership. Scott brings a unique perspective honed through her work as a consultant for European and American brands, alongside formative roles at Costume National, J.Mendel, Elizabeth & James, and Rachel Comey.Scott founded Diotima in 2021, quickly gaining recognition for its collections defined by a dialog between delicacy and structure, tradition and futurity. Her work frequently enough features crochet crafted in Jamaica, crystal mesh bodices, and sharply tailored separates. She won the CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year award in 2023 and Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2024,and was a finalist for the LVMH Prize and the Woolmark Prize. She was also nominated for a Latin American Fashion Award.

Born in Jamaica and raised in London, the 41-year-old Scott is recognized as an expert on Caribbean artisanal craft and the future of contemporary dress. She previously received the Empowered vision Award from the Andréa W.and Kenneth C. Frazier Family Foundation in 2023.
