Sofia, Bulgaria – Rosen Tsankov, a leading figure in Bulgarian cinema known for his work as a producer and co-founder of SIA and Camera companies, has died. Tsankov began his career as a cinematographer, graduating from the Cinematography department of the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts “krustyo Sarafov.” He transitioned to production, becoming instrumental in establishing SIA and Camera, key companies within the Bulgarian film sector. He is particularly remembered as the producer of Dimitar Mitovski’s critically acclaimed short film, “Return,” which received a nomination at the prestigious Critics’ Week at the Cannes Film Festival.
