Soyaux Angoulême Defeats Grenoble 34-28 Behind Berges‘ Stellar Performance
Angoulême, France – October 30, 2025 – Soyaux Angoulême secured a vital victory in the Pro D2 league today, overcoming Grenoble 34-28 in a compelling match fueled by a dominant performance from fly-half Paul Berges. The win elevates Soyaux Angoulême to 10th place in the standings with 17 points, closing the gap on Grenoble, who remain in 8th with 20 points.
Berges, making his first Pro D2 start after arriving from Toulouse, showcased his versatility by scoring a full house - a try, conversion, penalty, and drop goal – within the first 32 minutes of play. This early burst helped soyaux Angoulême establish a lead despite facing a challenging first half that included two yellow cards for the home side.
