Angoulême,‍ France – October 30, 2025 ‍ – Soyaux Angoulême secured a‍ vital victory in the Pro D2 league⁤ today, overcoming Grenoble 34-28 in a compelling match fueled by a dominant performance from ⁢fly-half Paul Berges. ​The win elevates ‍Soyaux Angoulême to ⁢10th place in the ​standings with 17​ points, closing the gap on‍ Grenoble, who ⁣remain in 8th with 20 points.

Berges, making his first‍ Pro D2 start after arriving from Toulouse, ⁢showcased his versatility ‍by scoring ‍a full house -⁢ a try, conversion, penalty, and drop goal‌ – within the first 32 minutes of⁣ play. This early burst⁢ helped soyaux Angoulême establish a ‌lead despite facing a challenging first‍ half that included two yellow cards for the home⁤ side.

Soyaux Angoulême will travel to oyonnax​ on November 7th, while Grenoble will host Béziers the day before.
