Prince William in Saudi: Epstein Questions Follow Royal Visit

February 11, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Prince William faced direct questioning over the Royal Family’s handling of allegations surrounding his uncle, Prince Andrew, during an official visit to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday. As the Prince of Wales observed a football training session for young women, a reporter repeatedly asked, “Sir, to what extent do you think the Royal Family has done enough around the Andrew and Epstein issue?”

The questions came a day after newly released court documents linked Prince Andrew to Jeffrey Epstein, alleging the Duke of York shared confidential investment details with the convicted sex offender. The documents reportedly detail information about investment opportunities in Afghanistan, passed on in December 2010, according to reports.

Prince William did not respond to the questions as he continued his engagement with Saudi officials. Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace both issued statements on Monday addressing the renewed scrutiny. Kensington Palace stated William and Kate, the Princess of Wales, were “deeply concerned” by the continuing revelations and that their thoughts “remain focused on the victims.” Buckingham Palace indicated King Charles would “stand ready to support” UK police examining the claims regarding Prince Andrew and Epstein.

The timing of the palace’s statements has been described as “extraordinary,” coming after years of limited public comment on the matter. The statements represent a shift in approach, acknowledging the gravity of the allegations and the public’s concern.

Thames Valley Police confirmed on Monday it is assessing the claims that Prince Andrew shared confidential reports from his time as the UK’s trade envoy with Epstein. The allegations raise questions about the purpose of the Royal Family’s public role and the integrity of its past engagements.

Whereas the Epstein scandal continues to dominate headlines in the UK, the palace is attempting to maintain focus on Prince William’s visit to Saudi Arabia. Official social media accounts have highlighted his meetings with Saudi leaders, including Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and his engagement with young people, particularly girls involved in sports. The visit aims to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries, but is overshadowed by the ongoing controversy.

Calls have grown for King Charles to encourage Prince Andrew to voluntarily cooperate with police investigations in both the UK and the United States. Prince Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Prince William is understood to monitor news coverage from the UK even while on official overseas trips.
