Préstamo Feliz Faces Lawsuit Over Unpaid Wages & Layoffs | 160+ Employees Affected
Monterrey, Mexico – At least 160 former employees of the financial firm Préstamo Feliz have filed a collective lawsuit alleging unpaid wages and severance following their dismissal, according to reports surfacing Monday.
The legal action comes as Préstamo Feliz already faces scrutiny over allegations of international fraud, and follows reports that employees began experiencing delayed or absent paychecks as early as October 2025. The lawsuit claims the employees were terminated without receiving outstanding salaries or legally mandated final settlements.
Fernando García Sada, the owner of Préstamo Feliz, was photographed celebrating the New Year 2025 with staff prior to the reported financial difficulties, according to a photograph published by El Norte.
The legal challenges facing Préstamo Feliz extend beyond the labor dispute. Recent reports indicate that authorities had previously arrested and subsequently released García Sada in connection with the fraud allegations. An appeal of his release is reportedly underway, and a previous attempt to secure an injunction against legal proceedings was denied.
The financial firm has also been implicated in complaints from adult clients alleging fraudulent investment schemes. One individual, identified as Lore Lore, reportedly invested funds with Préstamo Feliz and is now seeking their return.
As of Monday afternoon, Préstamo Feliz had not issued a public statement regarding the employee lawsuit. The Fiscalía, or prosecutor’s office, had previously indicated a willingness to pursue conciliation in the fraud case, but the status of those efforts remains unclear.
