‘Predator’ Sequel Stars Urge Embracing Imperfection, Prioritizing Connection
The cast of the new “Predator” film, “Prey,” is sharing a core message that extends beyond the sci-fi action: the importance of self-acceptance and meaningful relationships. Elle Fanning, star of both “The Predator” and the upcoming “Emotional Value,” highlighted a thematic link between the films – that what truly matters in life isn’t material possessions, but the bonds we forge and the impact we have on others.
Fanning reflected on the film’s message, stating, ”People should not at all costs conform to what someone has preset for them. There is no need to fit into someone’s ideas, it is possible to find your own way… Life is all about cultivating relationships and the people you can influence along the way.” She noted the parallels in her recent roles, transitioning from “The Predator” to “emotional Value” where she plays actress Rachel Kemp, a star navigating a shift to a smaller production. Despite the genre differences, Fanning approached both characters with a similar focus on authenticity.
The actress described a whirlwind production schedule, flying directly from New Zealand to France to begin filming “Emotional Value” immediately after wrapping “The Predator.” Both films, though distinct in tone and style, prompted reflection on the value of genuine connection and staying true to oneself.
