Prayers and Support Flood In for Punjabi Singer Rajvir Jawanda Following Critical Accident
MOHALI, Punjab – A wave of prayers and support is encompassing Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda as he continues to fight for his life in intensive care following a severe road accident in Himachal Pradesh on September 27th. The 35-year-old artist sustained critical head and spine injuries during a biking trip with friends and has remained on ventilator support for the past 11 days.
Jawanda, who rose to prominence with hits like “Phone,” has become a beloved figure in the Punjabi music scene. His current condition has sparked an outpouring of concern from fans, fellow artists, and political leaders alike, highlighting his important impact on the region’s cultural landscape. Doctors report no major improvement in his neurological condition as of today, November 3rd, and his family continues to seek divine intervention for his recovery.
The situation has prompted widespread appeals for prayers. Punjabi artistes collectively organized an Akhand Path Sahib – a continuous recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib - culminating in a Bhog ceremony at Gurdwara Sri Amb Sahib in Mohali on November 3rd. Harbhajan Mann, a prominent Punjabi singer, shared news of the ceremony on X (formerly Twitter), stating the collective prayer was for Jawanda’s ”Charhdi Kala,” a Punjabi phrase signifying optimistic spirits and well-being.
Chief minister Bhagwant Mann has already visited Jawanda in the hospital, and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal enquired about his well-being today, expressing hope for a full recovery.Badal met with Jawanda’s mother and family, acknowledging their courage during this difficult time, stating, “Jawanda and also his family members are fighting the battle courageously and may God give them more power.”
Jawanda remains hospitalized, and his condition continues to be closely monitored by medical professionals. The outpouring of support underscores the deep connection between the artist and his community as he battles for his life.
