Pragmata: 2 Million Sales and PS5 Pro Resolution Upgrade

Capcom has confirmed that its new action-adventure title, Pragmata, has surpassed 2 million copies sold worldwide within 16 days of its launch.

The game arrived on April 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This sales milestone follows earlier reports that the title had cleared 1 million copies within its first two days on the market. The performance of the new intellectual property comes after a prolonged development period marked by multiple delays.

Technical Enhancements for PlayStation 5 Pro

Following the initial release, Capcom deployed update 1.21, which introduces undocumented image quality improvements specifically for the PlayStation 5 Pro. The patch increases the game’s internal resolution from 864p to 1080p, bringing it in line with the resolution used by the standard PlayStation 5.

Beyond the resolution increase, the update improves the quality of ray-traced reflections and sharpens the appearance of geometry and visual effects, particularly on metal components and holographic lines. These changes were implemented without causing significant performance regression from the game’s target of 60 frames per second.

Technical analysis indicates that while the PlayStation 5 Pro remains the most stable console build for maintaining 60 FPS, some performance dips persist. These drops are most evident during combat sequences and specific cutscenes where the rendering of the character Diana’s hair increases the computational load.

Gameplay and Narrative Framework

Pragmata is a third-person action-adventure set on a crumbling lunar research station. The narrative centers on the partnership between a spacefarer named Hugh Williams and an android named Diana as they attempt to escape the facility and return to Earth. The protagonists must combat a hostile AI known as IDUS, which has seized control of the station and its robotic defenses.

The gameplay mechanics require the simultaneous coordination of both characters. Hugh utilizes a hip-mounted jetpack for mobility and employs a range of electricity and energy-based weaponry. Because the hostile robots are equipped with metal plating that resists standard projectiles, players must use Diana’s hacking abilities to expose weak points in the enemies’ armor.

These hacking sequences occur in real time, requiring the player to navigate a cursor across a grid to reach target tiles while Hugh continues to dodge and evade attacks. Successful hacking can provide combat advantages, including increased weapon damage for Hugh.

The PC version of the game has maintained an Overwhelmingly Positive user rating on Steam, based on more than 11,000 reviews.

The potential for frame-rate drops in the most computationally demanding areas remains a point of observation for the current build.
