Prabowo Boosts Disaster Mitigation Budget and Equipment to Tackle Ring of Fire Risks
President Prabowo Subianto convened a virtual limited meeting from the Merdeka Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday to evaluate ongoing disaster responses across Indonesia, declaring that the nation’s geographic placement requires constant readiness to face disasters at all times. The meeting included participation from Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Head of the Defence Ministry’s Logistics Agency Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari.
Budget Increases and Military Equipment Orders
To address recurring natural disasters, Prabowo ordered an immediate and significant increase in the national disaster mitigation budget.
