Powerball Jackpot Soars as Winning Tickets Sold in Missouri adn Texas Split $1.787 Billion Prize
A historic Powerball drawing has crowned two winners, one in Missouri and another in Texas, who will share a staggering $1.787 billion jackpot.The winning numbers – 16, 34, 46, 58, 69, and Powerball 26 – were drawn Monday night, marking the second-largest Powerball prize in the lottery’s history.
This massive payout comes after weeks of escalating anticipation, with the jackpot growing steadily since the last winning ticket was sold on July 19th. Powerball is currently available in 45 states, Washington D.C., the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, costing $2 per play, with an optional “Power Play” feature for an additional cost that can multiply winnings by two, three, five, or ten. In Idaho and Montana, Powerball includes Power Play for a minimum purchase price of $3 per play. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 pm ET at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
The jackpot will be split between the two winning tickets, with each expected to receive approximately $893.5 million before taxes. Winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prizes. the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately one in 292.2 million.
