This marks the largest lottery prize in U.S. history, eclipsing the previous record of $2.04 billion won wiht a powerball ticket on November 7, 2022. The winning numbers were 12, 23, 34, 56, 61, and the Powerball was 17.
Lottery officials confirmed the single winning ticket was purchased at a retailer in California, though the winner’s identity remains unknown. The jackpot had been steadily climbing for 16 weeks since the last win on August 6,2025,fueling a surge in ticket sales nationwide.
