Postponed: Dundee United vs St Mirren & Montrose vs Peterhead After Waterlogged Pitches
Saturday’s Scottish Premiership match between dundee United and St Mirren, along with the League 1 fixture between Montrose and Peterhead, have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches following heavy rainfall.
Both Dundee United and Montrose announced the postponements, citing unplayable conditions at their respective stadiums. The decision followed early morning pitch inspections to assess the impact of the recent downpours.
In a unique response to the cancellation, Peterhead took to X (formerly twitter) seeking a replacement opponent. The club stated, “the team have a slot booked at Garioch Sports Center in Inverurie from 12pm to 1.30pm if any local team is available for a game.” This lighthearted approach highlights the disruption caused by the weather and the team’s eagerness to still utilize their training time.
