Port Arthur TX: Submit News & Events to City Website | Official Site

March 23, 2026 Dr. Michael Lee – Health Editor Health

The City of Port Arthur is clarifying its process for posting information on its official website, portarthurtx.gov. According to a notice on the site, all submissions from organizations seeking publication must be sent to the Public Information Office for review.

The city website, operated and funded by the City of Port Arthur, serves as a central hub for information regarding city services, programs, and events. The policy states that organizations can submit announcements for publication if the organization or event is funded by the city, takes place at a city facility, or is sponsored by the city. However, acceptance of a submission does not guarantee its inclusion on the website.

All submitted content is subject to review by both the City Manager, currently Ronald Burton, and the City Attorney, Roxann Pais Cotroneo. This dual review process aims to ensure all published information aligns with city policies and legal standards.

The City of Port Arthur, incorporated in 1898, currently has a population of 57,755, according to the Texas Municipal League City Officials Directory. The city operates under a Home Rule government and maintains civil service for both its police and fire departments. City Council meetings are held on alternate Tuesdays at both 8:30 A.M. And 5:30 P.M.

Mayor Charlotte Moses leads the city, alongside Mayor Pro Tem Harold Doucet, Sr., and City Councilmembers Willie Bae Lewis, Jr., Tiffany Hamilton, Donean Beckcom, Donald Ray Frank, Sr., and Thomas Kinlaw, III. The city also employs Pamela Langford as Assistant City Manager-Operations and Albert T. Thigpen as Assistant City Manager. City Hall is located at 444 4th Street, Port Arthur, Texas 77640.

The city is currently operating under a Five-Year Strategic Plan, spanning from 2025 through 2030, designed to guide the city’s growth and development. The Port Arthur Youth Advisory Council also serves as a liaison between the city government and local youth.
