Polar Street X Review: Rugged Fitness Watch for City & Adventure
Polar launched the Street X, a new sports watch featuring an integrated LED flashlight and aimed at urban athletes, on Monday, March 25, 2026. Priced at $249 in the United States and £219 in the United Kingdom, the Street X is positioned as a more affordable alternative to models like the Garmin Instinct 3, offering a blend of fitness tracking and everyday practicality.
The Street X boasts a 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen display protected by Gorilla Glass 3, housed within a reinforced, shock-resistant plastic case. Polar emphasizes the watch’s durability, claiming it meets military-grade standards. The device weighs 48 grams and measures 45 x 45 x 13.7 mm. Interchangeable 22mm straps allow for customization.
Beyond its rugged design, a key feature of the Street X is its built-in LED flashlight, offering both white and red light modes. The red light mode is intended to preserve night vision during low-light training sessions. The watch also incorporates built-in GNSS tracking, a compass, barometer, and turn-by-turn navigation powered by komoot.
Polar is marketing the Street X to “hybrid athletes” – individuals who combine various training disciplines, including running and strength exercises. The watch includes Precision Prime™ optical heart-rate tracking, SleepWise™ sleep tracking, and a range of training and recovery metrics, including Training Load Pro™ and FitSpark™ Daily Training Guide. It offers up to 10 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.
While the Street X offers many of Polar’s core features, it does not include offline maps, a feature reserved for the company’s higher-end models. The watch is available now, according to Polar.
