Point Isabel ISD Fishing Tournament 2026: Music & Scholarships
Point Isabel Independent School District (ISD) will host its 5th Annual Superintendent’s Fishing Tournament on April 10-11, 2026, with proceeds benefiting student scholarships.
The event begins Friday, April 10, with a Captain’s Party at Viva & Jim’s Pier, featuring a concert and silent auction. Performers scheduled to appear include Brody Rivers Band, Tejano icon Gary Hobbs, and country music artist William Beckmann, according to a press release from the district.
For the first time, the Captain’s Party will be open to the general public, allowing community members to participate in the festivities alongside sponsors and captains. Tickets are available for purchase, with a price of $75, according to a Facebook post from Point Isabel ISD.
The Superintendent Scholarship Fishing Tournament itself will take place on Saturday, April 11. Organizers have set a fundraising goal of $220,000, with $82,800 raised as of Wednesday, March 25, 2026, through online donations via Givebutter.
Point Isabel ISD is inviting anglers to compete and contribute to scholarship opportunities for students. The event aims to combine community engagement, live entertainment, and a competitive fishing tournament to support educational goals within the district.
