PM Modi Sits with MPs in Last Row at NDA Workshop, Signaling Unity Ahead of Vice President Election

NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat alongside other BJP members in the last row during a workshop for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs held ahead of the Vice President of India election, a move highlighted by actor and BJP MP Ravi Kishan. Kishan shared a photograph from the event on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the Prime Minister’s presence “is the strength of BJP,” and emphasizing that “everyone is a karyakarta (worker) in the organisation.”

The two-day workshop, which began Sunday, is focused on preparing for Tuesday’s Vice President election and includes sessions on the BJP’s history, boosting parliamentary efficiency, and effective social media use by MPs. During the event, BJP MPs also felicitated PM Modi for recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms, according to NDTV sources.

The Vice president election comes following Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation on July 21, citing health reasons. The candidates are CP Radhakrishnan, nominated by the BJP-led NDA, and B Sudarshan Reddy, put forward by the Congress-led INDIA bloc. Members of Parliament from both Houses will vote on September 9th to select Dhankhar’s successor, who will serve a full five-year term despite the previous incumbent’s mid-term departure.
