New Urgent Treatment Centre Opens at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth
Plymouth, UK – Residents of Plymouth adn the wider Devon and Cornwall region have a new option for urgent, non-life-threatening medical care. An urgent treatment Centre (UTC) has opened it’s doors at the Dartmoor Building within Derriford Hospital, the University Hospitals plymouth NHS Trust announced today.
the UTC will operate daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, serving patients of all ages.Medical professionals at the centre are equipped to handle a variety of minor illnesses and injuries, including limb fractures, sprains and strains, minor head injuries, scalds and burns, bites and stings, foreign objects in the eyes, and infected wounds and cuts.
While initially slated to open on August 21st,the launch was briefly delayed to accommodate a final building regulation modification.
the Trust confirmed the new UTC complements the existing Urgent Treatment Centre at the Cumberland Centre in Devonport, expanding access to timely care. Fourteen drop-off spaces and two dedicated disabled spaces with a 30-minute limit are available at the Derriford Hospital location.
