Plymouth Urgent Treatment Centre Opens at Derriford Hospital

New ⁢Urgent Treatment Centre Opens at Derriford Hospital⁣ in Plymouth

Plymouth, UK – Residents of ⁣Plymouth adn ‌the wider Devon and Cornwall region have a new option for urgent, non-life-threatening medical care. An urgent treatment Centre (UTC) ​has opened it’s doors at‌ the Dartmoor Building within Derriford Hospital, the University Hospitals plymouth NHS Trust announced today.

the UTC will operate daily from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM,​ serving ‍patients of all ages.Medical professionals⁤ at the centre are ‌equipped to handle a variety of minor illnesses​ and injuries, including limb fractures, ⁢sprains and strains, ⁢minor head injuries, scalds and burns,⁣ bites and stings, foreign objects in the ⁢eyes, and infected wounds and⁣ cuts.

While initially slated⁣ to open on August 21st,the launch was ⁤briefly delayed to accommodate a final building regulation modification.⁢

the Trust‍ confirmed‍ the new UTC complements the existing Urgent Treatment Centre at the Cumberland Centre in Devonport, expanding access to timely care. Fourteen drop-off spaces and two dedicated disabled⁤ spaces with a‌ 30-minute limit are available at the‌ Derriford Hospital location.

“We look forward to seeing ⁣you and welcoming patients,” said Dr.‍ Anne Hicks, Consultant ⁤in Emergency Medicine.
