Plopsaland News: New Attractions, Parades & Celebrity Visits
Belgian novelist Herman Brusselmans has been photographed at Plopsaland with his son, Roman, and partner, Lena, marking the first public appearance of his son. The author stated he would not have visited the theme park without his child, according to reports from HLN and Facebook posts on Saturday.
The visit coincided with the opening of Plopsaland’s latest season and the unveiling of several new attractions, including a traffic park for children featuring tractors, as well as additions like beach chairs, bowling, and mini-golf. Plopsaland has described the expansion as the largest in its history.
Brusselmans, known for his often controversial work and profane language, is one of the best-selling authors in Flanders. He previously married Gloria Van Iddergem in 1981, divorcing a decade later, and Tania De Metsenaere in 2005, with that relationship ending in 2010. He has been in a relationship with Lena since March 2016.
Gert Verhulst, a figure associated with Plopsaland, was not present for the photograph, though the report notes his absence. Brusselmans also has a football team called “De Woody’s,” named after his late dog Woody, and previously played as a left winger for Vigor Hamme and Sporting Lokeren.
Brusselmans studied Germanic philology at the University of Ghent.
