PLN Announces Updated Electricity Tariffs Effective October 1,2025
Jakarta,Indonesia – State-owned electricity company PLN has announced revised electricity tariffs taking effect October 1,2025. The updated rates impact a wide range of customers, from households to large industrial operations, adn reflect adjustments across various power consumption tiers. These changes are crucial for consumers and businesses to budget effectively and understand their energy costs moving forward.
The tariff adjustments are categorized by customer group and power capacity (measured in Volt-Amperes or Kilo-Volt-Amperes). These revisions aim to align pricing wiht operational costs and ensure the sustainability of Indonesia’s electricity infrastructure. Customers should review their respective group and power usage to determine the applicable rate.
Household Electricity Rates: Customers in the R-1/TR category with 900 VA power will see a rate of Rp1,352 per kWh. those with 1,300 VA and 2,200 VA capacities will be charged Rp1,444.70 per kWh. For smaller households, the R-1/TR 450 VA group will pay Rp415 per kWh, while the 900 VA group will be billed Rp605 per kWh.
business and Industrial Tariffs: Businesses categorized as B-2/TR, utilizing 6,600 VA to 200 KVA, will face a rate of Rp1,444.70 per kWh. Larger businesses and industries (B-3/TM, TT) consuming over 200 KVA will be charged Rp1,114.74 per kWh. industrial customers in the I-3/TM group,also consuming above 200 KVA,will pay the same rate of Rp1,114.74 per kWh, while those in the I-4/TT group exceeding 30,000 KVA will be billed Rp996.74 per kWh.
Government, public Lighting, and Social Services: Government facilities and public street lighting fall under groups P-1/TR (6,600 VA-200 kVA at Rp1,699.53 per kWh), P-2/TM (above 200 KVA at Rp1,522.88 per kWh), and P-3/TR (public street lighting at Rp1,699.53 per kWh). Public lighting and various voltage applications (L/TR, TM, TT) will be charged Rp1,644.52 per kWh. Social service groups (S-1/TR) have tiered rates: 450 VA at Rp325 per kWh, 900 VA at Rp455 per kWh, 1,300 VA at Rp708 per kWh, 2,200 VA at Rp760 per kWh, 3,500 VA-200 kva at Rp900 per kWh, and over 200 KVA (S-2/TM) at Rp925 per kWh.
