Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – November 17, 2025 – Mārtiņš Pļaviņš and Edgars Fokerots concluded group play at the Beach Volleyball World Championships with a defeat against the Czech Republic’s Ondřej Perušić and David Schweiner, finishing second in their pool despite earlier victories. The Latvian duo fell to Perušić/Schweiner 19-21, 12-21 on November 17, 2025.
This result positions Pļaviņš and Fokerots for the playoff bracket, which will be finalized after 14:00 local time. While a second-place finish means a more challenging path forward, both teams-along with Graudiņa/Samoilova-continue their pursuit of championship contention at the tournament. Pļaviņš is competing in his eighth World Championship, while Graudiņa/Samoilova are participating in their fourth.
