Placebo Returns to Vilnius for 30th Anniversary Tour After Nearly 20 Years

Placebo Returns to Vilnius for 30th Anniversary Tour After Nearly 20 Years

October 15, 2026 Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor Entertainment

British alternative rock band Placebo performed a 30th-anniversary tour concert at Arena Vilnius in Lithuania, delivering a show featuring early career hits and a request for fans to keep their phones put away.

Placebo Brings Massive Production to Vilnius

LRT reported that Kallsup took the stage at 8:00 p.m., while Placebo followed at 9:00 p.m.

Placebo arrived in Vilnius with their entire concert technical production, ensuring Lithuanian audiences experienced a show identical to those presented in other European cities. LRT noted the massive scale of the 30th-anniversary tour, which requires a traveling crew of 60 people, six trucks carrying sound, lighting, and stage equipment, and four special tour buses. The band’s current routing spans approximately 40 cities across Europe and the United Kingdom.

Following the Vilnius performance, the band and their production crew traveled to Riga for an October 16 show at the Xiaomi arena, as detailed by 15min.lt and LRT.

Setlist Focuses on Early Alternative Rock Albums

Brian Molko and Stefanas Olsdal focused the anniversary tour on the albums that turned the group into 90s alternative rock stars: their 1996 self-titled debut album Placebo and the 1998 release Without You I’m Nothing. Fans at Arena Vilnius heard live renditions of “Nancy Boy,” “Pure Morning,” “Every You Every Me,” and “Without You I’m Nothing.” The setlist also featured songs the band had not performed live in more than two decades.

To mark their three-decade milestone, Molko and Olsdal released a reimagined version of their debut album titled Placebo RE:CREATED, featuring new interpretations of original tracks. Prior to launching the tour, the group released a new song titled “Helen Keller,” built from a 1996 instrumental piece originally titled “H.K. Farewell.”

Placebo Returns to Lithuania After 20 Years

The performance marked Placebo’s return to Vilnius after a nearly 20-year absence, with their only prior visit to Lithuania taking place in 2007, according to LRT. During the lead-up to the event, the band encouraged concertgoers to refrain from using mobile phones or recording video during the performance, asking audiences to focus entirely on the music.
