Dallas Mavericks Secure PJ Washington with Four-Year, $90 Million Extension
Dallas Mavericks forward PJ Washington has agreed to a four-year contract extension worth $90 million, keeping him with the franchise through the 2029-30 season. The deal was reported by Shams Charania of ESPN and confirmed by Washington’s agent, Kevin bradbury of LIFT Sports Management.
Washington joined the Mavericks last season after previously playing for the Charlotte Hornets. His shooting ability and versatile profile offer a unique dimension to Dallas’s frontcourt, which already includes Anthony Davis,Cooper Flagg,Dereck Lively IV,and Daniel Gafford. The extension suggests the Mavericks envision Washington potentially playing meaningful minutes at the small forward position, a role where his skillset could complement the team’s existing strengths. The success of this strategic shift and Washington’s adaptation to the new role will be a key factor in the future performance of the roster constructed by Nico Harrison.
