A brawl during Wednesday night’s game between the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets has resulted in suspensions for four players, according to ESPN NBA senior writer Vincent Goodwill, who discussed the fallout on ABC News Live.

The altercation began with a hard foul by Charlotte Hornets center Moussa Diabate on Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren. The incident escalated as players from both teams intervened, including veterans Miles Bridges and Isaiah Stewart, ultimately leading to their ejections, as reported by Sporting News.

Hornets head coach Charles Lee was also ejected from the game following a verbal altercation with referees after the initial scrum. The Hornets were seeking their tenth consecutive win at the time of the incident.

Following the game, Hornets leading scorer Brandon Miller offered a brief comment, stating, “It was fun. Next question.”

In anticipation of potential suspensions, the Hornets proactively called up PJ Hall from their G-League affiliate, the Greensboro Swarm, on Tuesday. Hall, the team’s third true center, is expected to provide backup support behind Ryan Kalkbrenner if Diabate is suspended. Grant Williams and Xavier Tillman Sr. May also see increased playing time should Bridges face disciplinary action.

The Hornets are scheduled to face the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night, with a win potentially moving them to ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Vincent Goodwill began his career writing features for SLAM Magazine before covering the Detroit Pistons for The Detroit News, and joined ESPN in September 2025.
