pilsen’s victory over Nový Sad in a challenging match was more arduous than their previous encounter in Rome, according to Pilsen’s Ladra, while Nový Sad captain Aleš Rus openly displayed emotion following a hard-fought performance.
Despite being eliminated from competition,Nový Sad’s players and staff expressed a sense of accomplishment. Rus stated, “I’m proud of the team. We imagined keeping a goalless score for so long in the most ideal scenarios. Pilsen had a lot of chances, but it’s a shame that we conceded from the penalty spot for the first time. As time was running out, I thought to myself that with some stupid rebound, if we survived three more deaths, the ball might end up in the opponent’s goal. It wasn’t too far away.”
Rus described the match as the best of his career, admitting, “I don’t think I will play better in my career. That’s also why, when I had to substitute in the second half due to injury, some tears fell from my eyes.”
