Pikmin Bloom Adjusts Unclaimed Mushroom Reset to 3 AM Local Time

Pikmin Bloom Adjusts Unclaimed Mushroom Reset to 3 AM Local Time

October 1, 2026 Lucas Fernandez – World Editor World

Starting October 5 at 18:00 UTC, Niantic’s augmented reality mobile game Pikmin Bloom will shift the daily reset time for unclaimed mushrooms to 3:00 AM local time, nownews.com reported. The change alters a mechanic that previously synchronized the refresh of unpopulated mushrooms globally at 18:00 UTC.

Global Synchronization Shifted to Local Time Zones

Under the previous system, mushrooms lacking active player participation refreshed simultaneously around the world at 18:00 UTC. For players in Taiwan, that global refresh occurred at 2:00 AM local time. Following the upcoming October 5 adjustment, those unattended mushrooms will instead reset at approximately 3:00 AM in each respective local time zone.

The developer outlined the update directly inside the application, noting that the exact hour of the refresh will now vary by geographic region rather than happening all at once. This follows a separate adjustment made in late September that reduced the overall number of available mushrooms in Taiwan.

Impact on Rural Play and Overseas Travel

Urban areas with dense player activity often see high competition for mushrooms, meaning most targets are claimed quickly. Consequently, the timing adjustment will have minimal impact in crowded city centers where mushrooms rarely sit empty for long. However, the shift introduces a one-hour delay for players in remote regions like mountains or coastal areas who monitor unplayed giant mushrooms ahead of weekend appearances.

Conversely, travelers visiting international regions with lower player density may find strategic utility in the 3:00 AM local reset. Players can wait for low-reward mushrooms to clear out at the revised local hour before deploying their squads. European countries like the United Kingdom, where unplayed mushrooms previously reset at 7:00 PM local time, will experience a more pronounced schedule change.

Daily Free Challenge Limits Remain Unchanged

The adjustment applies strictly to unattended mushroom refreshes and leaves other daily features intact. The game’s daily free mushroom challenge limit continues to reset at midnight local time, operating independently from the 3:00 AM unattended mushroom reset mechanism.
