Pikmin 4 Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Announced with New Dandori Academy Mode
Pikmin 4 is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026, priced at 69,99 € with a 9,99 € upgrade path for owners of the original Switch version. Announced during a Nintendo Direct on September 9, the enhanced release — officially titled Pikmin 4 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Académie Dandori — adds 4K television-mode support, microphone-based voice commands for the rescue pup Otchin, and a new competitive mode called Académie Dandori.
## Enhanced Performance and Voice Commands
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition delivers improved graphical fidelity, pushing the game’s resolution up to 4K when docked. Beyond visual upgrades, the hardware’s built-in microphone allows players to bark nine distinct orders directly to Otchin using their own voice. These voice prompts let users command the canine companion to gather or scatter Pikmin, haul treasures back to base, or offer praise in the field.
## The Académie Dandori and GameShare Integration
The newly introduced Académie Dandori mode challenges players to recover hidden treasures across a sequence of varied stages against the clock. Nintendo plans to roll out 72 stages over time, releasing a batch of six levels with distinct difficulty tiers every month. Weekly exams run from Friday to Sunday, permitting unlimited practice runs but restricting players to a single official submission attempt per week. The mode features online leaderboards, collectible medals, and user icons earned through performance across three difficulty levels.
For multiplayer sessions, the title incorporates GameShare functionality within Dandori duels. A single copy of the game on a Switch 2 is all that is required to share the experience locally via wireless connection — with compatibility extending to first-generation Switch consoles — or online through GameChat, utilizing network features that require a paid Nintendo Switch Online subscription.
