Beloved TV Host Pierre M. Krause Reveals Year-Long Absence Due to Cancer Battle
german television personality pierre M.Krause has publicly disclosed the reason for his year-long break from screens: a battle with a malignant tumor. Krause revealed his diagnosis in the new season of his YouTube series, ”Short Route with Pierre M. Krause,” which premiered October 30th. The news comes as a surprise to many fans who have missed the presenter’s familiar face.
Krause explained to “TV Total” host Sebastian Pufpaff that back pain initially led to the discovery of the tumor. “I had back pain. It turned out it was a malignant tumor. It had to be removed, otherwise I would have died from it at some point,” he stated. The treatment required the removal of bone tissue, now necessitating the use of crutches and ongoing physical therapy.
The presenter described his journey since the diagnosis as “a trip that was a hell of a ride,” but expressed gratitude for a positive outcome. “It could all have turned out completely differently. I’m really lucky,” Krause shared.
Krause acknowledged his absence on Instagram, writing, “For very unpleasant reasons I had to take a year off. It is indeed all the more pleasing that short-haul routes can continue.” He concluded with a characteristic note of humor, declaring, “From now on it will be: ‘Less painkillers, more joke drugs.'”
New episodes of “Short Route with Pierre M. Krause” are available every two weeks on the ARD media library and YouTube.
