Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver George Pickens eager to Debut Alongside CeeDee Lamb Against Eagles

PHILADELPHIA – New Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens expressed his readiness for Thursday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, emphasizing his excitement to play alongside All-Pro receiver CeeDee Lamb. Pickens, acquired in the offseason, anticipates a quick connection with Lamb and quarterback dak Prescott, citing extensive work during the offseason program and training camp.

Pickens’ arrival in Dallas marks a potential turning point in his young career. Previously utilized primarily as a deep-threat receiver, he expects to be deployed in a more versatile role under offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, lining up at all three receiver positions and showcasing a broader route-running skillset. This expanded role, coupled with the presence of Lamb and Prescott, is generating significant anticipation for the Cowboys’ offensive potential.

“I’ve always watched [CeeDee Lamb]. I played against him, so now I’m ready to play with him,” pickens saeid. “I feel like we can hit the ground running. We had a lot of reps in the offseason, [and] going to Georgia and throwing routes – so I feel like we can come out hot.”

Pickens dismissed concerns about a lack of preseason game repetitions impacting their offensive start. He highlighted the extensive preparation during the offseason and training camp in Oxnard, California, where Schottenheimer frequently moved him around to different receiver spots.

“I’m super excited – that’s kind of what I was talking about with the scheme: different routes, different route concepts to get me open, to get CeeDee open, to get a lot of guys open,” pickens explained.”Like I said, we’ve got a lot of weapons, so I’ll naturally just come up simply by other guys just running their routes. I’m definitely ready.”

When questioned about his contract status, which expires after the 2026 season, Pickens deflected the conversation, reiterating his focus on team success. “Not really,” he said. “I’m more of a team guy. I always say that. I don’t really think about that, because I’m more of a team guy. I’m ready to play with CeeDee, and ready to see what the guys do as a team.”
