Phoenix Mercury forward Satou Sabally will miss Game 4 of the WNBA Finals, the team announced October 10, 2025. The injury considerably impacts the Mercury’s chances of forcing a decisive Game 5 against the Las Vegas Aces.
sabally sustained a left ankle sprain during Game 3 on October 8, 2025, adn subsequent evaluation ruled her unavailable for Friday’s contest. Her absence is a critical blow to Phoenix, as the 6-foot-4 forward has been a dominant force throughout the playoffs, averaging 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game.The mercury trail the Aces 2-1 in the best-of-five series.
“It’s incredibly disappointing for satou and for our team,” Mercury head coach Vanessa Nygaard stated. “She’s a vital part of what we do, but we have full confidence in the players who will step up in her place.”
Sabally’s injury occurred late in the third quarter of Game 3. While the severity wasn’t instantly clear, she was unable to return to the game. The Mercury are hopeful she will recover quickly, but her status for a potential Game 5 on October 12, 2025, remains uncertain.
