Rains to continue ‍Across Philippines as Two Low Pressure Areas Monitored

MANILA – Rains are forecast to persist‍ over several parts of ⁢the philippines on ⁤Sunday, August 31, 2025, as ⁢state weather bureau PAGASA monitors ⁤two ⁤low pressure areas ⁢(LPAs) ⁣within the Philippine Area of Duty (PAR). According to PAGASA, LPA 08h was last located 90 kilometers ‍east northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, while LPA 08i ⁣was spotted 900 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas. Both ‌systems are currently‌ “unlikely” to develop ⁤into tropical depressions within ‍the next 24 hours.

The trough of‍ LPA 08h is ‍expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and ⁣thunderstorms over the Bicol Region,Eastern ⁢Visayas, and Quezon province. PAGASA has warned of‍ potential flash floods and landslides due to moderate⁤ to heavy ‍rainfall in these areas.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon will ‍continue to affect Metro ‌Manila,MIMAROPA,CALABARZON,the rest of Visayas,Zamboanga Peninsula,Northern⁣ Mindanao, and Caraga. The remainder of luzon and Mindanao may experience partly⁢ cloudy ⁢to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
