Petrobras President ⁤Warns against Betting Against ⁤Company, Cites Strong ‌Q3 Results & Renewable Energy Focus

RIO DE⁣ JANEIRO – Petrobras President Magda Chambriard⁤ issued a strong statement Friday, declaring that anyone who bets against the company “will lose,” citing robust third-quarter 2025 results and a⁢ strategic shift ‍towards ⁢renewable energy sources. The declaration comes amid ongoing debate surrounding potential ‍oil exploration in the Equatorial Margin and a global energy transition.

Chambriard underscored⁣ petrobras’ historical role as a key driver of Brazil’s economy, noting the company enabled the nation’s first major‌ export – oil – ⁤over the past seven decades. However, she acknowledged a‍ changing global landscape, with slowing ⁤oil demand, declining prices, and increasing societal‍ pressure for clean energy alternatives. This context, coupled with a 28.6% jump⁣ in‌ investments totaling US$14 billion in the first nine months of the year, fuels the confidence behind her assertive message.

“But the world has ‍changed, and ⁢Brazil has changed along with it. Demand for oil ‌has had its growth ⁣rate almost annulled, the price is in sharp decline ⁤and‍ society demands more⁣ clean energy from us,” Chambriard stated. She highlighted Petrobras’ long-standing‍ commitment to renewable energy, citing its early investments in ethanol, biodiesel, solar power, and ⁢the country’s first wind energy⁤ project.

The executive emphasized ongoing negotiations to position the company for success over the next 72 years, requiring “adaptation effort and a lot of commitment” from the Petrobras team and its partners.‍ “With determination, there is nothing that this company cannot⁣ deliver to the country. The results of the third quarter of 2025 say⁢ so,” she ‌added, concluding ⁤with a rallying cry: “A team that ⁣is a team guarantees the vanguard!”
