Frenchman Mpetshi Perricard Advances at Brussels ATP 250 with Ace-Heavy Victory
Brussels, Belgium - October 14, 2025 – Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard secured a hard-fought victory over Emil Ruusuvuori in teh first round of the ATP 250 tournament in Brussels, prevailing 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 4-6 in a match defined by dominant serving. The 37-year-old Frenchman delivered a stunning 39 aces throughout the two-hour and ten-minute contest, a rate statistically meaning his opponent failed to return a serve approximately every third attempt.
The match showcased a balanced struggle, with both players holding serve consistently through the first two sets, forcing tie-breaks. Ruusuvuori ultimately succumbed to a single break point in the third set, proving decisive against Perricard’s relentless serve.
