Pepperdine Waves Bring Six-Match Winning Streak Into October Schedule
The Waves carry significant momentum into the weekend homestand following a sweep of their recent matches. Junior Laine Briggs leads the squad with 230 digs, earning her second consecutive WCC Defensive Player of the Week honor on September 21, 2026, after setting a career-high and a Bluejay Invitational-best with 35 digs.
Offensively, Chloe Pravednikov paces the Waves with 168.0 total points. Junior setter Tristen Raymond leads the team with 478 assists, ranking third in the WCC and 45th nationally. The team’s current six-match win streak matches a nine-match run from October 11 to November 8 of last year.
Pacific Tigers Visit Firestone Fieldhouse Under New Coaching Leadership
Pacific arrives in Malibu under head coach Jeff Hendershot, who assumed leadership of the program on December 23, 2025, following the departure of Greg Gibbons after 16 years. Hendershot, a 2009 Pacific graduate, was a four-year letterwinner for the Pacific men’s volleyball team from 2006-09 and was a Pacific men’s volleyball assistant coach in 2014. Defensively, sophomore Bella Gutierrez ranks fourth in the WCC with 206 digs, while Nicole Zake contributes 143 kills.
Thursday’s matchup at Firestone Fieldhouse will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with tickets available for purchase online. To boost attendance, the first 75 students at the Thursday evening match and Saturday’s 1:00 pm contest against Saint Mary’s will receive a free chicken sandwich courtesy of Chick-Fil-A Conejo Valley. Saturday’s game features a ‘Flashback in Firestone’ promotion.

Other Collegiate Programs Prepare for Spring Competition
Guided by head coach Craig McKenzie—who took over the program in August 2025—the Blazers continue preparations to return to the CCAA National Championship tournament scheduled for March 2027 in Montreal.
