Oberland Agriscience launched Peak Beak, a new line of poultry nutrition products, this week, targeting the growing market of home chicken keepers. The company’s entry into the sector is based on a survey revealing that supporting egg health is the primary motivation for individuals raising chickens at home.
Peak Beak aims to address a gap in the market where many existing treats and supplements prioritize appearance over nutritional value, according to Greg Wanger, founder and chief technology officer at Oberland Agriscience. “When we listened to chicken keepers, one thing was clear: egg health matters most,” Wanger said. The new brand offers functional treats and supplements designed to support strong eggshells, vibrant yolks, healthy feathers, and overall flock vitality.
A key ingredient in Peak Beak products is black soldier fly larvae (BSFL), a natural source of protein and compounds that promote gut health. Oberland Agriscience highlights that BSFL is naturally higher in calcium than mealworms, appealing to the chickens’ natural foraging instincts while supporting egg production and overall wellness. The company emphasizes the sustainability of its production, noting that all products are manufactured in North America to ensure quality, traceability, and consistency.
The initial product lineup includes Whole Dried Poultry Treats, consisting of 100%-natural dried BSFL intended to encourage foraging behavior and contribute to everyday vitality. Additional products are planned for release in the near future. Oberland Agriscience is actively seeking retail partnerships to expand the availability of Peak Beak products, with information for potential retailers available at peakbeak.us/develop into-a-retailer/ and sales inquiries directed to sales@oberlandag.com.
According to Oberland Agriscience, Peak Beak was created to fill a niche between purely recreational treats and comprehensive feed formulations, delivering nutrition that supports flock health in a way that is intuitive and sustainable.
