The production is based on the true story of Cline’s friendship with a devoted fan, Louise Seger, and features 27 of Cline’s greatest hits.
A Tribute to Patsy Cline’s Enduring Legacy
Patsy Cline,born on September 8,1932,achieved remarkable success in a short career before her tragic death in a plane crash in March 1963 at the age of 30. Cline broke barriers as the first female country artist to headline a Las Vegas show, performing a five-week engagement at The mint Casino in 1962. Her crossover appeal made her a household name, boosted by appearances on Arthur Godfrey’s television show.
The Drury Lane Theatre’s production, “Always…Patsy Cline,” directed by Scott Weinstein, brings Cline’s story to life through the lens of her friendship with Louise Seger.The musical highlights Cline’s journey from her Winchester, Virginia, roots to becoming a national sensation. Aja Alcazar embodies Cline, while Bri Sudia plays Louise Seger, Cline’s pen pal and friend.
