Patisserie LUNA to close on Dec 31 due to rising operating costs
Popular patisserie LUNA, famed for its intricate cakes and tarts, will permanently close its doors on December 31, 2026. The homegrown brand announced the shuttering due to rising operating and ingredient costs, alongside shifting consumer spending patterns and changed consumer habits.
In an Instagram post on September 28, the business shared:
“It’s difficult to put this into words, but with very heavy hearts, we’re sharing that LUNA will be closing its doors on 31 December 2026.”
Store History and Operations
LUNA opened its first physical store in Amoy Street in 2020 before leaving the location in 2025. The brand currently sells its desserts online and at Lucine by LUNA, a physical cafe that opened at 111 Somerset in 2024. Customers can continue purchasing cakes online and at the Lucine outlet until December 31.
The spokesperson clarified that Lucine will not be affected by the closure, continuing to run independently and staying at 111 Somerset under its lease agreement with the mall. Following the closure of LUNA’s physical store, the team had intended to shift operations online while looking for a new physical space, but ultimately decided to bring the brand to a close.
Farewell and Future of the Brand
Ahead of the closure, LUNA stated on Instagram that it will bring back crowd favourites, classic creations, and special Christmas offerings. The patisserie also mentioned it would like to hear from anyone who has ever dreamed of carrying the brand forward

. The spokesperson expressed gratitude to supporters, stating that LUNA has been a labour of love since 2020 and grew into a brand that became part of many celebrations and milestones.
