Alejandro and Francisco faced off in the latest Pasapalabra round following a period of change in the competition’s “Silla Azul” (Blue Chair) segment. Alejandro, coming off his first victory, accumulated 1,800 euros, whereas Francisco debuted with a tie that signaled a promising start, according to reports from February 12, 2026.
During his conversation with host Roberto Leal, Alejandro expressed ambition for his third program appearance and satisfaction with his current winnings. Francisco revealed he had deliberately refrained from taking a riskier answer during his debut, a calculated decision Leal praised as demonstrating “sangre fría” – cool blood – and allowing him to begin his participation on a positive note.
The current contestants have stepped into the roles previously held by Rosa Rodríguez and Manu Pascual. Rodríguez achieved a historic win on February 6, 2026, securing a 2,716,000 euro prize, automatically ending her duel with Pascual. The win marked the largest payout in the show’s history, according to Antena 3.
Óscar Torres and Édgar de las Heras were initially brought in as replacements for the departing duo. Torres, born and raised in Alcalá de Henares and now residing in Madrid, holds degrees in History and Geography, and a Master’s in Education. He had previously opened an academy shortly before the pandemic, a venture disrupted by the resulting circumstances. Édgar de las Heras expressed surprise at being immediately placed in the competition, anticipating a more gradual entry.
The arrival of Torres and de las Heras coincided with a reset of the prize money to 100,000 euros. Roberto Leal welcomed the new contestants on February 6, acknowledging the significant legacy left by Rodríguez and Pascual, who he described as now being “part of the family.”
Following the historic win, Leal stated, “Por si alguien en este país todavía no se ha enterado” – “In case anyone in this country hasn’t found out yet” – referencing Rodríguez’s achievement, as reported by ABC.
