According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, the attempted abduction occurred while the woman was with her 2-year-old child. Images from the scene depict a chaotic struggle on the sidewalk, with masked individuals attempting to force the woman into a van bearing the markings of a parcel delivery company.
The situation escalated when a firearm, or a replica, fell to the ground during the altercation. The child’s father bravely confronted the would-be kidnappers, preventing them from taking the woman. In a crucial moment, the woman managed to throw the gun out of reach, further disrupting the assailants’ plans.
Bystanders, witnessing the unfolding drama, rushed to the couple’s aid, prompting the abductors to abandon their attempt and flee in the van.

This incident bears a disturbing resemblance to other recent kidnappings targeting figures in the cryptocurrency world. le Parisien reported that the incident occurred at 8:20 a.m. and that the woman is reportedly the daughter of the president director of a cryptocurrency trading platform. The getaway vehicle was later found abandoned nearby.
Adding to the unease, just last Sunday, French authorities reported the liberation of a wealthy cryptocurrency entrepreneur’s father, who had also been abducted in Paris and forcibly taken into a van.In a gruesome detail, one of his fingers was severed during the ordeal.
Moreover, in January, David Balland, the founder of the crypto company Ledger, and his wife were abducted. Balland also suffered the amputation of a finger.
