Paris Jackson Vows to Renew Legal Battle with Michael Jackson Estate Following ruling
los Angeles – Paris Jackson intends to refile a lawsuit against the executors of her late father Michael Jackson’s estate after a recent legal setback, according to a statement released by her legal team. Jackson is contesting what she alleges are “irregular” payments made by the estate to its attorneys.
“Despite the recent court ruling, Paris will continue working to ensure her family is treated fairly. We will be submitting an updated filing shortly,” the statement read.
The dispute centers on “premium payments” granted by the estate’s executors, John Branca and John McClain, for unrecorded attorney time. In a July 2025 legal filing, Jackson raised concerns about these payments, with her legal team arguing they “raise serious and substantial questions about executors’ ability to effectively supervise counsel… and refraining from wasteful, six-figure gift-giving to themselves and their colleagues.”
Branca and McClain have defended the payments and countered that Jackson has received substantial benefits from the estate. They maintain they successfully transformed the estate from one burdened by debt into a $2 billion enterprise.
Michael Jackson’s financial situation was reportedly in disarray at the time of his death in June 2009. his three children – Prince, Bigi, and Paris – were named as beneficiaries of the estate. The escalating rift between Paris Jackson and the estate’s executors has become public in the past year.
the estate continues to be involved in various ventures, including the upcoming biopic Michael, featuring Jaafar Jackson as the king of Pop.
