Paramount+ March 2024: New Releases & LA Confidential

by Emma Walker – News Editor

Paramount+ will add the neo-noir mystery film Chinatown to its streaming library on March 1, 2026. The move comes as Paramount+ experiences a relatively quiet month for original content, with the Yellowstone spin-off shows, Marshals and The Madison, representing the sole new original series debuting in March.

Directed by Roman Polanski and written by Robert Towne, Chinatown was originally released in 1974. The film is set in 1930s Los Angeles and has garnered a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, qualifying it for inclusion in a curated selection of films with scores above 90% being highlighted by the streaming service.

Other film releases scheduled for March on Paramount+ were not detailed in available reports. The Paramount Pictures wiki notes theatrical releases from 1974 included The Dove, which premiered in Los Angeles on October 16th, and Frankenstein, released October 30th of the same year.

News of the Chinatown addition coincides with announcements regarding other streaming services’ March lineups. Peacock will feature 14 films with Rotten Tomatoes scores above 90%, while a new release date for Scary Movie was announced on March 3, 2026, positioning it to compete with Masters of the Universe in early June. A different film project, a remake of a 58-year-old crime thriller starring Michael B. Jordan, also received a production update this week.
