panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei Remake to be Shown at Tokyo game Show, Potential Release Window Emerges
A remake of Sega‘s classic rail shooter, Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei, is slated to be showcased at the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, hinting at a possibly imminent release. Publisher Forever Entertainment will present the game at the Rainy Frog booth from September 25-28, offering the first public look at the modernized title.
Originally released in 1996 as a prequel to the first Panzer Dragoon on the Sega Saturn, the Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei remake is being developed by MegaPixel Studio and Storm Trident. The game puts players in control of Jaen Jaqeue Lundi,who forms a bond with a dragon named Lagi,embarking on a journey to uncover the secrets of lost civilizations while battling relentless enemies. This remake aims to recapture the magic of the original while introducing contemporary features for a new generation of players.
The remake will retain the core rail shooter gameplay of its predecessor, but will incorporate branching routes and a dynamic dragon evolution system tied to player performance. Players will also have access to a berserk attack and the ability to replay mission variants post-campaign.Forever Entertainment is offering players a choice between classic and modern control schemes, alongside updated graphics and a remastered soundtrack-in addition to the original score. Panzer Dragoon 2 Zwei: Remake is planned for release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, though a specific release date has not yet been announced.
