Palace Orders DOH to Speed Up MAIFIP Claims Processing
The Presidential Palace has instructed the Department of Health to expedite the processing of claims under the Medical Assistance for Indigent Patients program, according to the Manila Bulletin.
Malacañang issued the directive to streamline financial aid distribution for vulnerable patients seeking medical support. The Medical Assistance for Indigent Patients program, known as MAIFIP, provides funding for hospital bills, medicines, and other healthcare needs for low-income citizens across the Philippines.
Delays in claims processing have routinely left beneficiaries and partner hospitals waiting for disbursements. The new order aims to cut bureaucratic bottlenecks within the Department of Health system to ensure funds reach eligible patients without unnecessary interruption.
The Department of Health is scheduled to submit compliance reports on the revised processing timeline to the Palace.
