pagani Launches Enhanced Waste Management System with new Provider Econova
“Your work will no longer be useless”: with this message, Mayor Lello de Prisco officially introduced the new phase of waste management to the citizens of Pagani, now entrusted to the private company Econova. The declaration took place on Via Mangioni this morning.
The Mayor expressed gratitude to residents for their continued separate waste collection efforts, acknowledging that previous inadequate resources hindered effective reward for these actions. A importent upgrade is now underway, featuring a fleet of over 20 new vehicles – including a lava road cleaner, a sweeper, and new waste collection trucks – alongside a revised collection calendar starting in September, new collection point enclosures, and a comprehensive awareness campaign targeting citizens and schools.
Mayor De Prisco, accompanied by Prime Minister Gerardo Palladino, also highlighted the stabilization of 17 temporary workers, now permanently employed within the construction site operations. This achievement, he noted, came after overcoming numerous obstacles.
Econova Director Natale di Palma stated, “Today marks an vital moment for the Paganese community. With the start of the new waste management, we are not only relaunching the service, but we are redefining the relationship with the city and with the surroundings. Separate collection, beginning with a new calendar in September,is not an obligation, but a gesture of respect towards pagani,a commitment to a cleaner, healthier city.” Di Palma emphasized the need for patience and a collective civic sense during this transition.
Mayor de Prisco added, “We are finally here to present the new urban hygiene collection service, arriving through a tender bridge for outsourcing, pending Eco-Cancie. This allows us to have a more efficient service for separate collection.” He thanked his administration, Councilor vincenzo D’Amato, the environment office led by Eng. Gerardo Califano, Sam ing. Antonio Sicignano, and the unions for their support in securing the workers’ permanent positions.
De Prisco concluded,”In recent years, seeing bags mixed together was demotivating for those who diligently separated their waste. Now,with this new contract,we will have an enhanced service.”
