OVC Volleyball Schedule: September 4-7

Lindenwood’s Donoughue Named OVC Volleyball Freshman of the Week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lindenwood University’s Meghan Donoughue has been selected as the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Volleyball Freshman of the week, the conference announced September 1. The redshirt-freshman setter spearheaded the Lions’ attack in her collegiate debut, delivering a standout performance across three matches.

Donoughue’s remarkable weekend included 108 assists, averaging 9.00 assists per set, contributing to Lindenwood’s .247 team hitting percentage. Beyond setting, she demonstrated all-around skill with 16 kills at a .353 hitting clip, alongside 32 digs (2.67 digs per set) and seven blocks.She recorded double-doubles against both UNCW (38 assists,16 digs) and Virginia Tech (41 assists,11 digs).

The OVC also nominated Catalina Rochaix (Eastern Illinois), Dariana Valencia (Little Rock), Sydney Sennett (Morehead State), Paige Bernstein (SIUE), Aysa Thomas (Southern Indiana), and Sagaia Reilly (Tennessee State) for the weekly award. other freshman nominees included Avery Fearnley (Little Rock), Katy St. john (Southeast Missouri), Kennedy Pike (SIUE), Aysa Thomas (Southern Indiana), Carsyn Stansberry (Tennessee State), Tuva Falk (Tennessee Tech), Ava Peters (UT Martin), and Jaleah Bauss (Western Illinois).

The OVC Volleyball season is underway, with weekly awards recognizing top performers as teams begin conference play. Donoughue’s strong start signals a promising freshman campaign and elevates Lindenwood’s presence within the league.
