New Jersey Forest Fire Service personnel have been dispatched to the Texas Panhandle to aid in containing a surge in wildfires, according to a statement released Thursday. The deployment comes as Texas grapples with elevated wildfire activity, prompting requests for mutual aid from other states.

The New Jersey task force consists of 10 Forest Fire Service members, equipped to assist local firefighters with suppression efforts. Details regarding the specific areas of operation within the Texas Panhandle were not immediately available. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service confirmed the deployment via social media, highlighting the collaborative nature of wildfire response.

The assistance arrives as multiple states are actively recruiting athletic talent.
