The Ourense-based Association of Football Coaches, Afiador, will host a session with Real Club Celta sports psychologist Rubén Domínguez on January 26, 2026, at the RFGF – O Couto stadium, according to an announcement from the association.
The event, designed for Afiador members and the public, will focus on practical case studies and address challenges faced by coaches. Topics will include managing parental influence during matches, the emotional impact of social media on players, strategies for dealing with performance pressure and frustration and maintaining team cohesion when managing player roles and substitutions.
Afiador members can register for the session through their WhatsApp group, while others can sign up via email or by calling +34 665654472. Prior to the session, Afiador will also recognize the contributions of several delegates from Ourense’s football community, and Raúl Rois, the representative of the Galician Football Federation (futgal_oficial) in Ourense, will detail the responsibilities of a football delegate.
The association, founded in 1991 and based in Ourense, has recently expanded its network through alliances with other coaching collectives, including the Association of Professional Football Coaches (EFA Pro), the Ibero-American Association of Football Technicians (AITF), and the Professional Coaches Union of Spain (Sienpre). Roberto González, Afiador’s president, stated that this alliance represents “the beginning of a common and historic path in defense of coaches.”
Afiador’s stated goals include improving the working conditions, training, and professional development of coaches, particularly those working with youth players. The association also maintains a presence on YouTube and Facebook, where it shares information about its activities and events.
