Disney+ Launches New Content: Borderland Season 3, Historical Drama Tak-ryu, and Thriller The Man in the Basement
Seoul, South Korea – Disney+ expanded its content offerings today with the release of three new titles: the third season of the survival thriller Borderland, the original historical drama Tak-ryu, and the psychological thriller The Man in the Basement. The releases aim to diversify the platform’s catalog and attract a wider audience.
Borderland Season 3 revisits the world of brutal survival games,following Aris and Usagi after their apparent victory and return to the real world. The season begins with the sudden disappearance of Usagi, prompting Aris to re-enter the deadly Borderland to find her. The new season promises intense challenges, including fire arrows, electric currents, and a final test orchestrated by the remaining Joker.
Also debuting today is Tak-ryu, Disney+’s first original historical drama. Episodes 1-3 were released simultaneously, with the nine-episode series unfolding with two new episodes each week, starting September 26th. Tak-ryu centers on individuals striving to reshape Joseon through wealth and power, focusing especially on the lives of the lower class and the “Walpa.” The story follows Choi eun-yul, who aims to rise to the top of Joseon, and explores the characters’ struggles against the backdrop of a turbulent era.
Rounding out the new releases is The Man in the Basement, a psychological thriller adapted from Walter Mosley’s novel. The series follows Charles Blake, facing financial ruin, who leases his basement to the enigmatic businessman Aniston Bennett (played by Willem Cannon) to settle debts. As strange occurrences begin, Charles finds himself entangled in a terrifying mystery.
