Örebro Shooting: Football Player Killed in Overnight Violence

A 20-year-vintage man, identified as a player for one of Örebro’s larger football clubs, was shot and killed late Saturday night in the Väster district of Örebro, Sweden. Police responded to reports of gunfire near a residential parking area shortly before 11:30 p.m. And discovered the man with gunshot wounds, according to reports from Swedish public broadcaster SVT and Aftonbladet.

The victim, who was a resident of Örebro, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have stated that the man was previously unknown to police and had no prior criminal record.
